How Origin Ledgers AG handles personal data on this website and on the platform, and the terms on which you may use the website.
Last updated 23 September 2026This section explains how we collect and use personal data when you visit this website, contact us, or hold an account on the Origin Ledgers platform.
Origin Ledgers AG, Baarerstrasse 11, 6300 Zug, Switzerland (UID CHE-434.070.549) is responsible for personal data processed through this website and through the platform accounts it operates.
Within an emissions allowance program, the company operating the program also decides how some participant information is used, for example to admit participants and manage positions. How responsibilities are divided between that company and Origin Ledgers is set out in the program agreement.
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Information you give us | Name, organisation, role, work email and message when you use a form on this website. During onboarding: company registration details, ownership structure, authorised signatories and the documents needed for KYC/KYB verification. |
| Information created when you use the platform | Account and wallet details, allowance and credit positions, transaction and settlement records, program records and emissions data submitted within a program. |
| Technical information | IP address, browser type, and the date and time of requests, recorded in server logs to operate and secure the website. |
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on the performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests in operating and securing our services, or your consent where we ask for it.
We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.
Program and provenance records appear on the Origin Ledgers public registry, and transaction evidence for program instruments is recorded on the public Ethereum network. These records contain no names, KYC/KYB evidence, emissions positions or commercial terms.
Wallet addresses are visible on the public network. The link between a wallet address and a company or person is held only in the private Origin Ledgers environment. Records written to a public blockchain cannot be changed or deleted, which is why we do not write personal data to them.
Some service providers process data outside Switzerland. We transfer personal data only to countries recognised by the Swiss Federal Council as providing adequate protection, or with appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Business and transaction records are kept for the periods Swiss law requires, generally ten years. KYC/KYB records are kept for the period required by the applicable legal and regulatory obligations. Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship are deleted once they are no longer needed.
We protect personal data with access controls, encryption in transit and the separation of platform functions described on Trust. The validation layer, for example, holds no participant private keys, signing secrets or custody credentials.
You can ask to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, or withdraw consent you have given. Some rights are limited where we must keep data by law.
Send requests to contact@originledgers.com. If you hold an account, you can also raise a request through the platform. We respond within 30 days.
You may complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or, where the GDPR applies, to the data protection authority in your country. Security issues can be reported to security@originledgers.com.

These terms apply to your use of this website.
These terms govern use of this website only. Programs, accounts and payments are governed by their own agreements, which take precedence over this page.
The content of this website describes the Origin Ledgers infrastructure. It is not an offer, and it is not investment, legal, tax or accounting advice. Origin Ledgers does not certify the environmental integrity of any project, credit or program.
Allowances issued within an Origin Ledgers program are private contractual instruments. They are not government-issued regulatory allowances, and taking part in a program does not by itself discharge obligations under any regulated emissions scheme.
Panels, figures and profiles marked Illustrative, Example or Dummy data show how the platform works. They are not real programs, customers, transactions or results.
